Whisper-id provides AI agents with real, routable IPv6 addresses that serve as unique network identities. The platform addresses the challenge of agents operating anonymously behind shared cloud IPs by assigning each agent a dedicated /128 IPv6 address, which is RIPE-allocated, RPKI-signed, and verifiable through standard internet tools such as dig, whois, and openssl. This approach enables attribution, control, and observability of agent activity at the network level, allowing for policy enforcement and clear accountability.
The service enables per-agent network policies, including resolver and egress controls, geo-fencing, and blocking by category or host ownership. Each agent’s actions can be traced to its own DNSSEC-signed identity, and every issuance and revocation is recorded in a public, tamper-evident ledger. The platform allows for rapid provisioning of IPv6 identities: users can obtain a live key in under a minute with only an email and a six-digit code, and can manage up to 1,000 agents per account. The CLI tools enable creation and revocation of agent identities in a single call, with corresponding updates to DNS and network policy. No SDK, broker, or account is required to verify identities, and the system is designed to be keyless and trustless, with all verification possible at the user’s own network edge.
Whisper-id is intended for a range of users including OEM and enterprise API providers, AI labs and agent builders, managed security service providers (MSSPs), security teams, and fleet or crawler operators. It allows API providers to distinguish and manage fleets of agents by verifiable identity, supports agent builders with direct control over agent egress and revocation, and gives security teams independently verifiable audit trails anchored in public internet infrastructure. Fleet operators benefit from clean, attributable egress and per-agent logging, with the ability to rotate or revoke identities as needed.
The platform is IPv6-only and operates on a live network with addresses announced by AS219419.
whisper-id sits in PulseGate's Frameworks & SDKs category. It focuses on enabling Python agents to have unique, routable IPv6 identities and secure network egress. It is built as an open-source project for python developers building networked agents. whisper-id is open source under the MIT license. It runs on the web, the command line, and API.
It is developed by whisper-sec, and the product first shipped in 2026. Development happens publicly on GitHub with 3 commits in the last 90 days. Key capabilities include IPv6 identity, secure egress, and python integration.
