Waystones Cloud

Waystones Cloud is a Geospatial-as-a-Service platform designed to transform geodata into live, standards-compliant APIs and services within minutes. It addresses the need for rapid deployment of geospatial data without requiring server management or DevOps expertise. Users can design their data models within Waystones or QGIS and deploy globally with a single click, supporting workflows that connect uploaded GeoPackage files or securely link to existing PostGIS or Supabase databases.

The platform automatically generates endpoints for OGC API, WMS, and vector tiles, requiring zero configuration to get geospatial services running. Services are deployed on a global edge infrastructure, allowing STAC-indexed datasets and map tiles to be served close to end users for low-latency performance. High-performance bulk downloads are supported by partitioning data into GeoPackage and GeoParquet chunks, indexed by public STAC catalogs. Waystones Cloud is built on open-source components such as QGIS Server, PMTiles, and oapif-go, and offers compatibility with STAC, QGIS, Mapbox, Leaflet, and standard web clients.

The service features managed orchestration and automatic container deployment, with secure gateways and isolated edge containers. APIs produced can be consumed in web mapping libraries or native applications. Services are configurable with additional performance, availability, and capability add-ons, which are priced per service. API and tile request overages, as well as processing job overages, incur additional charges.

Waystones Cloud offers a tiered subscription model. The free Wanderer plan allows one project with 2 GB storage, OGC API features, vector tiles, a STAC catalog, and limited requests and processing jobs per month. The Wayfarer plan, at €19 per month, is aimed at individual practitioners and increases storage, project limits, and includes features such as private endpoints, custom domains, email support, scheduled PostGIS snapshots, and WMS as an add-on. The Waystone plan, at €49 per month, targets teams and organizations, offering further expanded resources, organization access, priority support, and similar advanced features. All plans are designed to scale with user needs as traffic and storage grow.
