UrbanCyclers is a digital platform developed to increase cycling in cities. It combines crowdsourced data, artificial intelligence, and behavioural psychology to provide tools that help municipalities understand cycling patterns, improve conditions for riders, and encourage more people to cycle regularly.

The platform offers three main capabilities. Its navigation feature delivers accurate, up-to-date and personalised advice on safe and enjoyable cycling routes by using crowdsourcing and artificial intelligence. A data collection and analysis component gathers GPS trajectories recorded by users along with crowdsourced issue reports, then analyses this information to identify who cycles, where, why, when, what problems cyclists encounter, and how those problems can be addressed. The third element applies data-driven behaviour change techniques to motivate and incentivise regular cycling, rewarding users who choose sustainable mobility as their daily transport.

Cyclers.city positions the service as next-generation tools for understanding, facilitating and promoting cycling. It is delivered primarily through a mobile app that citizens download, with supporting web components and a factsheet available for cities. The service is aimed at municipalities and urban planners seeking to shift more residents toward cycling.
