Trumailo — Email Verification

Trumailo is a WordPress plugin designed to provide real-time email verification across a wide range of WordPress forms. It addresses the issue of spam signups, disposable inboxes, role addresses, and typographical errors that can degrade email deliverability and harm sender reputation. By verifying each submitted email address against the Trumailo API, the plugin helps site owners prevent invalid, disposable, throwaway, and role-based addresses from entering their CRM, mailing list, or order pipeline.

The plugin integrates natively with twenty popular WordPress form and membership plugins, including WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, MailPoet, FluentCRM, MemberPress, and others. Upon activation, it automatically detects supported integrations and begins verifying emails without requiring per-integration configuration. For custom forms or unsupported plugins, developers can use a provided PHP action hook or a REST endpoint to trigger email verification. The plugin supports server-side blocking during the form submission process, making it effective even against bots that disable JavaScript, and provides real-time inline checks with AJAX, including accessible status badges and typo suggestions.

Trumailo offers granular control over verification policies, allowing users to choose which types of addresses to block (such as invalid, disposable, risky, or role addresses) and to set different policies for each integration. Additional features include domain whitelisting and blacklisting, an opt-in cache for instant repeat verifications, and configurable fail-open or fail-closed behavior if the API is unreachable. Privacy considerations are addressed by defaulting to logging only MD5 hashes of email addresses, with the option to store full emails if needed, and by automatically purging logs after a configurable retention period. Only the email address being verified is transmitted to the Trumailo API, and verification results are cached locally.
