Therecanonlybe is a network topology and diagram editor that operates as a single HTML file, requiring no installation or dependencies. It is designed for mapping a wide range of node-and-connection-based scenarios, including networks, smart homes, sports plays, mind maps, and infrastructure layouts. The tool supports both desktop and mobile browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and modern Android and iOS browsers, and is optimized for offline use.

Key features include a large, zoomable and pannable canvas with a minimap, right-click context menus, and the ability to add text labels, boxes, and custom lines. Users can draw freeform shapes, create rack topologies with visual capacity indicators, and utilize multiple node shapes for servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and clouds. Nodes are customizable with editable names, IPs, roles, tags, and notes, and can be resized and styled. The platform offers smart routed connections between nodes, supporting multiple links, directional arrows, custom widths, colors, and port labels. A layer system allows toggling between physical, logical, security, and application layers, while lock and group features help manage node movement and organization. Bulk operations such as align, distribute, clone, delete, lock, and group are available, and full keyboard control enables precise editing.

Therecanonlybe offers recording and replay functionality, allowing users to capture topology changes in real time or step by step, and export them as animated videos. All data is saved within the HTML file itself, with optional AES 256 GCM encryption using the browser's native Web Crypto API and no server communication, providing a non-recoverable by design security approach.

The tool is available in three editions. The Core Edition provides essential diagramming features, rack topology views, encryption, and offline-only operation. st. The Verse Edition introduces real-time multi-user collaboration, Docker-based deployment, a shared topology server, admin dashboard, network auto-discovery scanner, persistent storage, and QR code sharing. Each edition is delivered as a downloadable HTML file or, for collaborative features, as a Docker deployment.
