TermioWin

TermioWin is a terminal server designed specifically for Windows environments, allowing users to access and operate command-line tools directly from a browser on the same network. By running as a lightweight server on a Windows 10 or 11 PC, it enables browsers such as Chrome, Edge, and Firefox to connect and authenticate using the user's Windows account, providing immediate access to all installed Windows command-line interfaces. This setup eliminates the need for remote desktop solutions, offering a local-first, browser-based terminal experience.

The platform supports a wide range of command-line tools, including cmd.exe, PowerShell, Git, Python, Node.js, WSL, SSH, and any other installed CLI utilities. Users can split their terminal into multiple panes, save up to five workspace configurations, and open multiple browser tabs for independent sessions. Session persistence ensures that terminal activities continue running even if the browser is closed or the client is disconnected, and session history is maintained. TermioWin offers command completion for shell commands and AI CLI slash commands, providing instant suggestions for tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Copilot, and Cursor, as well as for Git and GitHub CLI commands.

Security and privacy are central to TermioWin's design. Authentication is handled through native Windows APIs, and all application processing and terminal I/O remain local to the user's machine. No telemetry, cloud sync, or third-party analytics are included, and the software can run fully offline after enterprise license activation. TLS encryption is available via an automatically generated self-signed certificate. Each release includes a SHA-256 checksum for file integrity verification, and data is stored only in the user's %APPDATA%\TermioWin\ directory.

Additional features include a built-in viewer pane for Markdown, PDF, HTML, and text files with auto-refresh, webhook and CI triggers for integration with external systems, automated Git snapshots for project folders, and an AI-ready MCP server for orchestrating and monitoring AI assistants within the terminal. TermioWin is free for personal use, with professional and enterprise features available under separate licensing.
