Tab Tint

Tab Tint is a browser extension that changes favicons on individual tabs to make look-alike tabs from the same site easier to distinguish. It addresses the problem of identical favicons in the tab strip that hinder quick scanning and recognition.

The extension allows users to mark any tab on demand by adding a number, color frame, custom letter, or solid marker to its favicon. Changes occur in place and remain visible until the tab is reloaded, navigated, or restored, at which point the original favicon returns automatically. Tab Tint is delivered as a browser extension compatible with Chromium-based browsers including Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and Vivaldi. A signed release for Firefox is in development. Installation for Chrome and compatible browsers occurs through the Chrome Web Store, while Edge users may enable extensions from other stores to use the same listing. The current version is 1.1.0.
