AI agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, claude.ai, and Cowork can be connected via the MCP open standard, allowing them to read notes, draft content, propose edits, and participate in comment threads within documents. All AI-generated suggestions are presented as tracked changes, and every edit—whether by a human or an agent—is signed and attributed, ensuring transparency and editorial control.

The platform emphasizes real-time collaboration, supporting multiple cursors, live presence, and role-based sharing. Syncpen is markdown-native, enabling users to write and maintain documents in markdown format without conversions. It also includes built-in research tools, with support for importing from BibTeX, Zotero, and Mendeley, and offers automatic bibliography creation. For publishing, users can export documents with one click to platforms such as WordPress, Ghost, Sanity, or as PDFs. The version history feature records all contributions, making it clear who authored each change and maintaining a transparent record of document evolution.
