SmartClip

SmartClip is a browser-based clipping tool for saving web content into note apps already in use. The service is aimed at people who read and collect a lot of material, including researchers and developers, multi-platform workers, and people who do not want their data tracked. It says that reading history and notes never pass through SmartClip servers, that API keys are encrypted locally, and that AI chat can run with Ollama fully offline. Images are auto-backed up to the user’s own cloud storage. The page also says the extension can be driven by AI assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor to batch-save browser tabs. It is offered with a free plan that uses one default target, while Lite lets the user choose the target at clip time.
