SiloPrompts

SiloPrompts is an open-source personal database designed for organizing, searching, and managing AI prompts locally. It addresses the common issue of scattered or inaccessible prompt collections by providing a system that keeps all data on the user's own machine, with no cloud storage, no accounts, and no data leaving the user's environment. Prompts are stored as plain markdown files in a git-friendly, human-readable, and portable format, avoiding the need for a proprietary database.

The platform offers a web user interface that enables users to create, edit, and delete prompts (full CRUD functionality), perform full-text search with real-time results and a Cmd+K shortcut, and copy prompts with a single click for use in any AI tool. Organizational features include tagging for cross-category filtering, bookmarking favorites for quick access, and the ability to import markdown files or export backups as ZIP archives. Visual customization is supported through automatic dark and light modes with a glassmorphism theme.

SiloPrompts is intended for a range of users, including developers who interact with AI for tasks like code review and debugging, content creators managing prompt templates for writing and brainstorming, analysts building repeatable prompts for data analysis and research, and anyone who frequently communicates with AI and wants to keep their prompts organized. The tool is delivered as a Python package installable via pip, as a Docker container, or from source, with deployment options that include Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts.
