Sightseeing App is a mobile application designed to facilitate flexible and self-guided exploration of cities. It allows users to discover points of interest without following predetermined routes, supporting spontaneous sightseeing by providing notifications when the user approaches a landmark. The app displays precise directions and distances to nearby attractions, accompanied by representative images and brief descriptions that are both shown on screen and read aloud. Users can access further images and information about each sight with a simple gesture.

All landmarks are listed in a searchable view and can be marked as favorites. The app also displays fast-food restaurants nearby with a single click and provides offline access to public transport network maps. Sightseeing App categorizes attractions, allows toggling of categories, and tracks visited sights in a table with date and time stamps. It also includes a feature to remember the location of a parked car with optional comments.

Achievements are gamified through the collection of trophies and medals, and users may opt to participate in a leaderboard for comparison with others. The app supports 12 languages, including English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish, with language switching available at any time. Data import and export functions are provided for easy migration. The app is fully functional offline, and daily updates ensure that information and new attractions remain current.

A strong emphasis is placed on privacy: there is no tracking in either the free or premium versions, and no data is transmitted to the internet without the user’s explicit consent.
