Row-Bot

Row-Bot is a local-first AI workbench for desktop use. It combines agents, models, tools, memory, workflows, design, code, messaging, and voice in one workspace, with local storage for conversations, goals, projects, and durable memory. The product is built around keeping work on the user’s machine while allowing hosted providers to be connected when chosen.

Its core workflow centers on durable threads and explicit control. A thread can be given a role and working policy, an objective can be kept visible, bounded work can be delegated to child agents, and risky actions can be reviewed before approval. Row-Bot also stores threads, runs, memory, and project state locally. The workbench is organized into four surfaces: thinking with models and memory, coordinating profiles and agents, acting through tools and channels, and building in code and design studios.

The thinking area uses Ollama, private OpenAI-compatible runtimes, hosted APIs, xAI Grok OAuth, ChatGPT/Codex, Claude Subscription, and provider-qualified custom endpoints. It adds auditable graph memory, documents, semantic and lexical recall, and an Obsidian-compatible wiki vault. The act area includes browsing, shell access, file management, document reading, email and calendar work, chart and media creation, MCP server connections, and delivery through messaging channels. Developer Studio keeps coding threads in durable Git worktrees with diffs, tests, todos, PR preparation, and an optional Docker shadow-copy sandbox, while Designer Studio creates decks, documents, landing pages, app mockups, and storyboards with editable output.

Row-Bot 4.4.0 adds a mobile companion paired to a phone for chat, activity, workflows, approvals, knowledge, and settings. Pairing can use a short-lived QR link over a local network, Tailscale, an existing ngrok tunnel, or a custom route, and a device can be revoked at any time. Live channels support Discord, Slack, Telegram, and WhatsApp with streaming delivery, typing state, safe message splitting, platform-aware retries, interactive approvals, and final-message fallback. It is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, requires no Row-Bot account, and is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.
