SeshTab is a browser extension designed for users who manage large numbers of browser tabs and sessions. It addresses common issues faced by heavy tab users, such as losing tabs after browser crashes or updates, high memory usage from keeping many tabs open, and difficulty organizing tabs for different projects or contexts. SeshTab saves every tab, window, and session, allowing users to restore them exactly as they were left. The tool operates as a popup rather than a persistent browser tab, minimizing memory usage by dropping to zero when closed and consuming around 35 MB when open.

Key features include the ability to group tabs by project into color-coded, searchable workspaces that can be closed to free up RAM and reopened with all tabs and their scroll positions intact. SeshTab supports up to three workspaces and five snoozed tabs in its free tier, with the option to hide tabs and schedule them to reappear at a chosen time. The command palette enables keyboard-first searching across open tabs, workspaces, and snoozed tabs. Duplicate detection helps manage tab clutter, and the tool offers AI clustering—using gpt-4o-mini—to automatically organize tabs by topic with a single tap. This AI grouping is available as part of the Pro plan.

SeshTab is compatible with Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers, as well as Firefox. The extension does not require an account for the free tier, which operates entirely locally so that no data leaves the user's device. For users who opt for the Pro plan, sessions are backed up in real time to the cloud with row-level security and encryption in transit, providing protection against data loss after crashes, reinstalls, or switching devices. The Pro plan also offers unlimited workspaces, extended session history for up to 90 days, and priority support.
