Hoard

hoard.services·Productivity & Work·🇩🇪

Hoard is a tool for game save cloud synchronization and backups. It addresses the problem of keeping game progress consistent when switching between multiple computers by automatically transferring save files and preserving a complete version history for each one.

The application detects when a game session ends on one machine, uploads any changes, and downloads the latest version on another device. It verifies every file with SHA-256 checksums. If save files diverge across machines, the most recent version takes precedence while the older one is retained locally as a backup. Users can roll back to any prior version directly from the interface. The client performs incremental transfers by comparing versions with the server and moving only what has changed. Installation requires no complex configuration: the program starts automatically on boot and runs in the system tray after a one-time sign-in.

Hoard is delivered as a native desktop application supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, and SteamOS, including use on the Steam Deck. It is built in Rust and released under the AGPL-3.0 open-source license, with self-hosting available. Data centers are located in Frankfurt within the EU. A command-line interface, Discord community, and written guides supplement the main client.

The service offers a free tier providing 2 GB of storage and a paid Pro plan that increases capacity to 100 GB. No credit card is required to begin using the free version.
