ReSmart emphasizes that 98% of the materials it collects avoid landfill, instead being reused, recycled, donated, or repurposed. For example, soft plastics may be converted into oil or asphalt additive, wearable clothes are donated to charities like the Australian Red Cross, and valuable metals are extracted from e-waste. The service excludes wet items, organic waste, and hazardous materials from collection.

ReSmart partners with vetted organizations to ensure responsible processing of collected items, aiming to maximize reuse and recycling. The platform highlights its impact by reporting over 2,300,000 kilograms of waste diverted from landfill and more than 445,000 pickups completed.
