Honeymux is a durable terminal workspace built on tmux for people working with agents, shells, and text-based user interfaces. It is described as a place to keep all of those sessions in one environment, with continuity when SSH connections drop or clients crash.

Its core behavior centers on session durability and multi-agent work. Sessions survive dropped SSH connections and crashed clients, and users can reattach from anywhere to continue where they left off. The interface includes a modern TUI design that can be used like a GUI, with key bindings adopted gradually or the UI turned off for a traditional tmux workflow. Other named functions include zero-config bootstrap, global visibility and control across any tmux window or session, agent multiplexing for unlimited instances of tools such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Gemini, and support for remote agents on other machines. It also offers per-pane tabs, full native OS-level search, scrollback, and clipboard copy from any tmux pane, conversation search, a sidebar for agent status and tmux server hierarchy, a toolbar for frequent pane operations, a key mapper UI, screenshot export to PNG including full scrollback, layout profiles, a quick terminal, drag-and-drop reordering, dimmed inactive panes, a root shell watchdog, and optional animations.

Honeymux is available through Homebrew with brew install honeymux/tap/hmx, or by running a curl | bash install script from get.hmx.dev. The site also identifies it as open source software created by Aaron Campbell. It is presented as a terminal multiplexer workspace powered by tmux, rather than as a standalone replacement for tmux.
