Vibe Annotations

Vibe Annotations is a visual annotation tool designed for developers working with AI coding agents on local projects. It enables users to annotate any element on their localhost applications—across multiple pages—and batch feedback for implementation by AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and GitHub Copilot. The platform is built to streamline the process of providing precise, actionable feedback to coding agents, allowing for multiple fixes to be executed in a single batch.

The tool offers a feature-rich annotation process: users can pin elements on any local page without manual selector setup, describe required changes, and add design edits or screenshots. Each annotation automatically captures the exact DOM selector, the associated React or Vue component, source file, viewport information, and a zoned screenshot, ensuring detailed context for every instruction. An in-place, Figma-like editing panel allows for direct design modifications—such as adjusting size, spacing, color, and text—with live preview before submission. Developers can request and preview design variants for components, then select their preferred option directly within the interface.

Vibe Annotations supports exporting annotations as a self-contained HTML file with embedded images or as a lightweight Markdown file, making it easy to share feedback batches. Auto-screenshot functionality and the ability to attach reference images further enhance the review process. The tool is delivered as a Chromium browser extension paired with a local MCP server, ensuring that all operations run 100% locally with no cloud dependencies, tracking, or account requirements. It is compatible with all Chromium-based browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and Arc, and works with any local application—whether built with React, Vue, Rails, or plain HTML files.

Vibe Annotations is completely free and source-available, with no subscription fees or premium features locked behind a paywall. Contributions are welcomed via its GitHub repository, and support is available through documentation, video tutorials, and GitHub Issues. The tool is developed by Spellbind Creative Studio.
