Ragento MCP is a platform that brings analytics capabilities directly into integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Antigravity, or any IDE supporting the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It allows users to connect their data warehouse to their IDE, enabling interaction with data through agents that can ingest, query, profile, and analyze information using tools designed specifically for analytics tasks.

The tool supports a one-line installation process and can be enabled in various IDEs by configuring the MCP server settings. Authentication is handled automatically via OAuth, with sessions saved locally for 90 days. Once enabled, users can interact with their data by describing outcomes in plain language, while the agent selects appropriate tools for tasks such as data ingestion, cataloging, running SQL queries, generating natural language answers, fetching tabular or chart outputs, conducting deep multi-step analyses, and profiling data for quality and column types. Ragento MCP also provides business context features, including metric definitions, business graphs, memory recall, document search, and guided Q&A to capture KPIs and definitions for projects.

Data can be ingested from CSV files, databases like Postgres, MySQL, or ClickHouse, API captures, or business documents. The agent can list connected data sources, provide schema details, and perform both simple and advanced analyses, including root cause investigations and anomaly detection. Users interact with the tool by describing their analytic goals, and the agent orchestrates the necessary workflow steps. The platform is designed to streamline analytics workflows within the familiar context of an IDE, reducing the need for manual data handling or switching between tools.

Ragento MCP is delivered as a server that integrates with IDEs via configuration files and supports both automated and manual authentication flows. It includes a browser extension and plugins for platforms such as Slack and Shopify, further expanding its integration options.
