Quartz Studio is a local-first Windows application designed to help users create step-by-step guides, support reports, QA procedures, and runbooks by capturing real desktop actions. It addresses the need for clear, accurate IT documentation directly from actual workflows performed on a Windows system, eliminating the reliance on manual screenshot copy-paste methods. The tool is suitable for those preparing IT reports, QA guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident evidence, focusing on scenarios where documentation of real actions is required.

The application offers both manual and assisted capture modes, allowing users to either select key steps themselves or have the tool automatically record actions as they occur within a session. Users can choose to capture the entire screen for broader context or limit captures to the active window for more focused documentation. Quartz Studio includes a structured document editor, which enables the transformation of captured steps into organized documents with sections, text-only steps, local images, placeholders, editable descriptions, and simple step reordering. Additional features include annotation tools such as arrows, numbers, notes, highlights, blur zones, and magnifiers, which help clarify instructions and protect sensitive information within the documentation.
