Planify

Planify is a task manager designed for GNU/Linux users that organizes tasks and projects while syncing with Todoist and Nextcloud. It addresses the need for a native desktop application that works offline, respects system resources, and keeps data under user control.

The application features a modern GTK4 interface built with libadwaita, delivering a clean design, seamless dark mode, and lightning-fast performance. Drag and drop gestures allow users to move tasks between projects, create sub-projects, convert tasks to subtasks, and reorder items with smooth animations. A magic button simplifies adding tasks in specific locations. Organization tools include sections, labels, priorities, custom filters, board view for visual planning, calendar integration, project progress tracking, and powerful search.

Task details support markdown in titles and descriptions, multiple reminders, recurring tasks with patterns such as daily, weekly, monthly, custom intervals or specific weekdays, file attachments, links, notes, priorities, and deadlines. Quick entry uses a global keyboard shortcut, natural language date parsing in English and Spanish, symbols like @ for labels, for projects and ! for priorities, and a keep-adding mode for rapid input. Multiple accounts are supported, with full synchronization to Todoist or Nextcloud and CalDAV servers including Radicale and Baïkal. The tool works offline and syncs changes upon reconnection. Import from Todoist accounts or Planner is available.

Planify is delivered as a Flatpak available on Flathub, compatible with any Linux distribution that supports Flatpak. It is desktop-only, though tasks remain accessible on mobile through Todoist or Nextcloud apps via sync. The project is 100 percent free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license, with no subscriptions, ads or hidden costs. It reports over 371,600 downloads, 5,500 GitHub stars, and support for more than 90 languages.
