PageVeil is a browser extension designed to help users blur, hide, or replace sensitive data on live webpages before sharing screens, conducting demos, recording videos, or taking screenshots. It addresses the need for privacy during presentations and customer interactions by allowing users to mask private information directly in their browser, without uploading page content or requiring code integration. The extension is available for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox, enabling teams to install it within their existing workflows.

Key features include the ability to click any element, draw protected regions, or select specific words and numbers for masking. Users can apply different levels of blur, hide values completely, or replace real data such as names, emails, revenue figures, IDs, and API keys with realistic demo-safe placeholders. The tool offers a local-first workflow, ensuring that all protections are applied within the browser and that page content is not uploaded for processing. Rules for masking can be saved by URL, page path, or domain, and will automatically re-apply after page refreshes or navigation, supporting single-page applications and dynamic sites.

PageVeil provides a side panel interface for managing blur effects, data replacements, saved rules, and toggling Demo Mode without obscuring the page being prepared. A one-click Demo Mode activates all saved protections for a site, making it easy to prepare a page for sharing, and can be quickly disabled to restore the original content. Additional controls include adjustable blur strength, quick removal of individual protections, and masking of browser tab titles and favicons to prevent leakage of sensitive information through browser UI elements.

The extension is intended for professionals who need to protect private or customer data during live demos, sales calls, support sessions, consulting, and content creation.
