OpenTrip

OpenTrip is an AI-assisted travel planning application designed to consolidate all aspects of trip organization into a single shared plan. It addresses the common problem of scattered travel research, which often spans group chats, browser tabs, spreadsheets, saved links, screenshots, and forgotten documents, especially when planning with others. OpenTrip is intended for solo travelers, couples, or groups, providing a centralized platform where every detail and decision related to a trip can be stored and accessed collaboratively.

The platform enables users to build detailed itineraries, plan each day with specific places to visit, food stops, maps, videos, and notes, and compare hotels and flights by saving options and shortlisting favorites. It allows for the storage of tickets, receipts, travel documents, screenshots, PDFs, and reminders, making it easier to keep all necessary information organized and accessible. OpenTrip also supports visual research of destinations, including attractions, restaurants, neighborhoods, maps, reviews, and travel context, as well as the ability to watch and save destination videos alongside other trip research.

Collaboration is a core feature, with the ability to invite family or friends to view, suggest, react, and help make decisions within the shared trip plan. The tool's AI capabilities can be used to find places, improve itineraries, organize trip ideas, or suggest better options, while still allowing users to retain control over the final plan. All group decisions and preferences are made visible, helping to keep everyone aligned throughout the planning process.

OpenTrip is delivered as an app, with users able to sign in and start planning their trips for free.
