NextXen Designer is a WooCommerce product designer plugin that enables customers to personalize products directly within an online store. js, allowing users to add text, upload images, insert shapes, and modify a product mockup before completing a purchase. The tool is designed for WooCommerce merchants seeking to offer product personalization options within their WordPress storefronts.

The plugin features a fully responsive, browser-based canvas with a live product mockup as the background. Customers can add text layers with controls for font family (including Google Fonts), size, color, bold, italic, and alignment. Image uploads are supported for JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP formats, with a configurable maximum file size. The canvas also includes ten shape types—such as rectangle, square, circle, ellipse, triangle, star, heart, pentagon, arrow, and line—each with fill, stroke, and opacity controls. Additional tools include a clipart browser for admin-uploaded images, a template browser for starting from pre-built designs, and a toolbar with undo/redo, object management, alignment, and reset functions.

Store owners can enable the designer on a per-product basis, upload mockup images, and set canvas dimensions through a dedicated tab in the WooCommerce product editor. There is an option to require customers to add at least one design element before adding a product to the cart. Once a personalized design is created, a thumbnail appears in the cart, checkout, and order confirmation emails, and all design snapshots are archived and downloadable as PNG files from the order screen. The plugin is compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and allows configuration of Google Fonts for use in the text tool.

NextXen Designer is delivered as a self-hosted WordPress plugin with no external service dependencies or monthly SaaS fees. It is distributed under the GPL v3 license and offers a free version with a complete product personalization system. Additional features, such as multi-surface editing, advanced typography, QR code generation, expanded asset libraries, print-ready PDF exports, and saved design libraries, are available through a Pro upgrade.
