TabFlow

TabFlow is a browser extension designed to help users organize and manage browser tabs efficiently, aiming to reduce tab clutter and prevent the loss of important tabs across multiple projects or research sessions. It is tailored for individuals who juggle numerous open windows and need a structured way to keep track of their browsing activities, particularly those working across different projects or research topics.

The extension allows users to collect, group, and categorize tabs into named categories such as "Work" or "Research," with the option to create sub-groups within each category. Users can view all open tabs in a compact side panel, grouped by browser window, and can save any tab to a group with a single click. TabFlow supports importing entire browser sessions or existing bookmark folders as new tab groups, making it suitable for migrating saved links or preserving context at the end of a work session. Important tabs can be starred for quick access in a dedicated view, and the drag-and-drop functionality enables easy reordering of groups and tabs, as well as moving tabs between groups.

Search and filtering features allow users to find saved tabs by title or domain, and groups can be filtered by custom tags or color codes for a visual overview. Each group can be labeled with tags and assigned a color, helping users tailor the organization system to their preferences. TabFlow replaces the browser's New Tab page with a workspace view and resides in the side panel on both Chrome and Firefox, enabling use alongside any web page. The extension operates privately by default, storing all data locally within the browser and not requiring an account or external server connection.

TabFlow is available for Chrome (version 114+) and Firefox, and does not require users to create an account. It is offered as a free tool, with the option to support ongoing development through voluntary donations. The extension requests only the permissions necessary for tab and bookmark management, ensuring user privacy by not accessing page content or browsing history. All tab data remains on the user's device.
