MySpec

MySpec is a spec-writing tool that turns an idea into a structured bundle of markdown files. It presents itself around the idea that clarity comes before code, and says it interviews the user like a senior architect before producing constitution.md, requirements.md, solution.md, and tasks.md for the context coding agents need.

The workflow starts with a rough description such as a paragraph, Slack thread, or voice note. An Analyst agent extracts the shape of the problem, then a structured interview clarifies scope, users, flows, and edge cases in 5–15 questions. MySpec says four specialised AI agents — Analyst, Architect, Designer, and Reviewer — collaborate through a single conversational interface, and the resulting bundle can be edited in plain English with changes shown as diffs. It also includes EARS+ acceptance criteria, live Mermaid diagram previews, live web research, and a versioned history with a diff viewer and recoverable Trash Bin.

The tool supports greenfield and brownfield work and can work with an existing codebase. It can parse PDF, Word, Excel, and image documents into the spec, and it can attach a local folder in the browser so the agent reads files over a secure reverse connection without uploads. Export options include ZIP, clipboard, and dropping the bundle into .specs/ for Cursor and Claude Code. It also offers one-click handoff to Lovable, Bolt, or Replit, and a connected MCP server for two-way access from Claude Code, Cursor, or Claude Desktop.

MySpec is in open beta and says unlimited AI is available during that period. Its pricing section lists Free, Pro, and Team plans; Free includes unlimited projects and specs, standard integrations, a Markdown + Mermaid editor, ZIP export, and community support, while Pro and Team add higher AI usage limits, advanced integrations, and, for Team, collaboration features, shared projects and roles, and centralized billing. The page names Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI as supported model providers with automatic fallback across providers.
