MyDockFinder

MyDockFinder is a Windows desktop customization tool that applies macOS-inspired dock behaviors and visual effects to the operating system. It targets users who want to modify the appearance and interaction model of their Windows interface with a persistent dock for launching and managing applications and files.

The software incorporates WinUI blur and Win11 mica effects, allowing adjustment of blur strength for a modern look on the latest Windows 11 version. It displays window previews when hovering over running program icons, including support for UWP applications. Preview size and delay time are adjustable after enabling the option in dock preferences.

Direct drag-and-drop of files and folders, including UWP shortcuts, onto the dock is possible, with batch operations supported. Some animation effects become unavailable when the program runs under an administrator account or in administrator mode. Message counting and prompting are provided for Discord, QQ, TIM, WeChat including its UWP version, though specific chat content cannot be shown due to the proprietary counting method.

A weather icon can be added to show real-time conditions on the dock icon and future forecasts in the preview window. Task progress is visualized through progress bars on dock icons for file copying, browser downloads such as from Chrome, and music playback in players like Foobar and PotPlayer. Three window minimization animations rendered with D3D11 hardware acceleration are available and can be enabled in preferences. Folders added to the dock allow right-click customization of thumbnail display and file sorting, with left-click revealing contents including subdirectory navigation and drag-and-drop file movement or copying.

MyDockFinder is delivered as a downloadable application from the Steam Store and requires Dockmod to be running for certain features such as minimization effects. It includes a dark mode option.
