Bambuddy is a self-hosted print management platform designed specifically for Bambu Lab 3D printers. It provides a centralized command center for managing printing tasks, supporting configurations from a single printer to print farms with up to 40 devices. The platform operates independently of vendor cloud services, allowing users to maintain full control over their printing environment without external dependencies or lock-in. A notable feature of Bambuddy is its integrated slicing capability, which eliminates the need for a separate desktop slicer. Through an optional sidecar that runs OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio headlessly within Docker, users can slice STL and 3MF files directly on the server. This functionality is accessible from various points within the platform, including the file manager, archives, MakerWorld, and the print queue. Sliced files are prepared in the .gcode.3mf format and are immediately available in the library for dispatch to printers. Additional features include one-click slicing from the file manager and archives, support for Bambu Studio preset bundles (.bbscfg), per-AMS-slot filament dropdowns with automatic matching, and the ability to re-slice any 3MF file for any printer, including across dual-nozzle configurations. The platform also supports multi-plate project slicing, allowing users to process all plates from a single 3MF file. These features are opt-in, so users can continue using their existing desktop slicer workflow if preferred. Bambuddy is compatible with headless operation on various hardware, including NAS devices, mini-PCs, and Raspberry Pi 5. It is open source and self-hosted, with community backing and ongoing development. The platform is suitable for individual users with a single Bambu Lab printer as well as those managing larger print farms. By closing the workflow gap that previously required a desktop machine for slicing, Bambuddy streamlines the 3D printing process for Bambu Lab users.
