LogLens

LogLens is a command-line tool designed for high-speed analysis of structured logs, with a focus on efficiency, privacy, and usability for engineers handling incident response and production troubleshooting. Built in Rust and powered by the open-source loglens-core engine, it enables users to search, query, and sanitize large log files directly from the terminal. The tool is optimized for rapid performance, using parallel processing to handle massive files and providing results in seconds.

Key features include an interactive terminal user interface (TUI) for visual log exploration, a natural query language tailored for JSON and structured logs, and a range of log analysis capabilities such as text and regex search, context-aware searching, gzip compression and decompression, log schema discovery, high-precision time filtering, optimized result counting, live log tailing and filtering, and log sanitization. The Pro tier adds instant statistical summaries as an additional feature. gz log files on the fly, allowing users to analyze archived data stored locally, including logs archived to S3, without incurring additional cloud storage costs.

The tool is delivered as a single, portable binary with no dependencies, ensuring that all operations are performed locally and sensitive data never leaves the user's environment. It is available for macOS, Linux, and Windows, with installation options via Homebrew, shell script, or PowerShell. LogLens also offers a Visual Studio Code extension for syntax highlighting and structured querying within the editor.

LogLens is available under a dual model: the core parsing engine is open source and MIT-licensed, while additional features are provided through a Pro license.
