LMN Site Monitor Desktop

LMN Site Monitor Desktop is a native desktop application designed to help users monitor the status and security of their websites directly from their own computer. It addresses the need for local, independent website monitoring without relying on external servers or cloud accounts. The tool provides continuous HTTP and HTTPS uptime checks, SSL certificate and domain expiry alerts, and malware scanning, all operating in the background to keep users informed about their website health.

Key features include configurable uptime monitoring intervals, with options ranging from every five minutes to daily, and automatic retries to minimize false positives from brief network issues. SSL certificate expiry is checked on every ping, while domain renewal dates are retrieved via WHOIS lookup once a day. Users receive instant HTML email alerts for site outages, recoveries, or impending SSL/domain expiries, with the ability to configure their own SMTP server for reliable delivery. The application also offers detailed performance charts, recording response times for each check and allowing users to export statistics in CSV or PDF format.

Malware scanning is integrated, enabling each site to be checked against the Google Safe Browsing and URLhaus databases, with options for daily or weekly scans and detailed security reports. Additional tools include one-click WHOIS and DNS lookups, providing information such as IP addresses, nameservers, MX records, TTL, and certificate expiries. The platform supports exporting and importing site lists in CSV format, which is compatible with the LMN Site Monitor WordPress plugin, facilitating easy migration and backups.

LMN Site Monitor Desktop is currently available for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), with macOS and Linux versions in development. The software is free to use and distribute, with no registration, activation key, or subscription required. The user interface is fully translated into 16 languages, catering to a global audience. A premium version with extended features such as SSH console, FTP/SFTP/SCP file management, advanced alerting, team sharing, and custom dashboards is planned for future release, but the free version will remain available at no cost.
