LMDM Lightbox Gallery Membership

LMDM Lightbox Gallery Membership is a WordPress plugin designed to enhance the native lightbox navigation experience for images and galleries within the WordPress editor. It introduces an editor option specifically for standalone core Image blocks, allowing these individual images to join the native lightbox navigation group of a selected core Gallery block on the same page. When the native Lightbox-Effect is enabled on an Image block, the plugin displays all Lightbox-enabled Gallery blocks in the block inspector. Users can then select a gallery, and the chosen standalone image will be included in that gallery's native lightbox navigation group on the frontend. The plugin maintains a stable internal lightbox group ID for Gallery blocks and assigns a selected group ID to standalone Image blocks, ensuring consistent grouping and navigation behavior.

The plugin does not replace the core Image or Gallery blocks but instead extends their functionality by leveraging the same WordPress Interactivity API context used by the core Gallery block for native lightbox navigation. This approach ensures compatibility and a familiar user experience within the WordPress editor.
