InterviewCue

InterviewCue is a podcast management platform for podcasters. It addresses the split attention that occurs when hosts manage notes, timestamps, and post-production tasks during interviews by providing a single platform that covers preparation, recording, and production phases.

In the preparation phase it supports building interviews with organized questions, private background notes, and reference links that are auto-extracted from imported content. Markdown import allows prep material from AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini or note-taking applications including Notion, Google Docs, Obsidian, and Bear to be brought in directly. Interviews can be organized by show, recording dates scheduled, and flow practiced in advance.

During recording the platform supplies hotkeys that capture highlights, follow-ups, chapters, audio issues, and interruptions with single keypresses while keeping the host focused on the guest. Every event receives an automatic timestamp. Real-time collaboration synchronizes hosts, producers, and guests. Questions appear as scrollable text, reference links open in an organized layout, and the interface works on iPad as a recording companion.

For production users upload both raw and final edited recordings, which are stored securely. Automatic transcription uses OpenAI Whisper models, after which the platform aligns the original and edited timelines to generate chapters that account for intros, outros, and cuts. Audio can be scrubbed around any timestamp. All materials for one interview, including questions, notes, timestamped events, transcripts, audio files, aligned timeline, chapter markers, and show notes, remain together. Exports are available in PDF, EDL, MIDI, CUE, Audition markers, JSON, Markdown, and CSV formats that integrate directly with tools such as Audition, DaVinci Resolve, and Logic Pro.

The service was created by Michael Kennedy, host of Talk Python to Me and Python Bytes, drawing on more than a decade of weekly production experience and over 1,000 episodes. Security features include industry-standard encryption, two-factor authentication, HTTPS with strict transport security, ownership verification on every request, and review against the OWASP Top 10.
