HCSS Plans

HCSS Plans is a digital plans management tool for the heavy civil construction industry. It is described as helping foremen take control of production and reporting in the field, while supporting office-to-jobsite document and plan management for construction projects.

Superintendents and project managers can upload project documents such as drawings, plans, and specifications through the HCSS Plans website and make markups and annotations in the office. Those changes appear immediately in the field on iOS devices, so field supervisors and crew leaders can work from the most updated set of plans. The tool also supports annotations and calculations in the field to measure material needed or understand the time needed to perform work.

HCSS Plans includes dual scaling capabilities and calculators for civil work, including asphalt, asphalt prime, concrete ordering and yield, dirt average end area, lime area, lime distribution, lime volume, rebar, trenching, trucking, pipe, and flex base. Documents can be marked with polygons or clouds to denote revisions, and users can add notes, photos, audio clips, and videos into drawings. It also includes versioning control and revision overlay, along with estimator pre-bid notes and measurements to show how a project was bid. At the end of a job, changes can be compiled into final as-built drawings for stakeholders.

The product is delivered through a website and is accessible on iOS devices in the field.
