DemoGuards

DemoGuards is a browser extension designed to protect sensitive information during screen sharing and live demonstrations. Targeted at sales engineers and founders, the tool addresses the risk of exposing private data by automatically blurring or masking a wide range of personal and confidential information while presenting in real time.

The extension is compatible with Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. Its core features include automatic blurring of emails, phone numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers, JWTs, social media handles, addresses, customer names, and various API keys. DemoGuards specifically lists support for masking API keys from services such as Stripe, AWS, OpenAI, Anthropic, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Resend, SendGrid, Google, and Firecrawl. It can also recognize and mask dashboard tokens, ensuring that even partially obscured credentials are detected and protected.

For added privacy, DemoGuards offers a "Login & SSO Shield" that blacks out the entire screen when a login page is detected. The extension is capable of blurring cross-origin sign-in widgets from providers like Google, Microsoft, Apple, GitHub, and Auth0/Okta, ensuring that sensitive details such as email addresses within these widgets remain hidden during a screen share. A customizable "Panic Trigger" feature allows users to instantly activate privacy measures using a keyboard shortcut, further reducing the risk of accidental exposure.

DemoGuards is available for free, with users able to add it directly to their browser. The tool is positioned as a solution for conducting safe and confidential demos, requiring only a one-time configuration to provide ongoing protection across all subsequent presentations.
