Dark Mode

Dark Mode for Safari is a browser extension designed to alter the color scheme of web pages viewed in Safari, making them easier to read in low-light conditions or at night. The extension is aimed at users who prefer a darker browsing experience, whether for comfort, matching the macOS dark mode, or reducing eye strain during nighttime use.

The tool offers several activation methods: users can enable it manually, schedule it for specific hours, or have it turn on automatically when macOS dark mode is active. There are five available themes—Dark, Mono Dark, Soft Dark, Dark Curtain, and Mono—allowing customization of the browsing experience. Users can also switch between a softer or a mono theme directly from the toolbar button.

Dark Mode for Safari provides flexibility in its application by allowing users to ignore certain sites or apply the dark mode to selected websites only. Hotkey support is included, with Command + Option + K for a temporary toggle (until the page refreshes) and Command + Option + P for a permanent toggle. The extension is delivered as a Safari browser add-on.
