Colir

Colir is a web-based tool designed for creating custom gradients with a high degree of control and visual complexity. It addresses the need for gradients that go beyond standard linear or radial styles, offering users the ability to craft unique color transitions and effects for creative projects. The platform is accessible via desktop and operates entirely in the browser.

Users begin by selecting and arranging color stops on a gradient bar, either using built-in presets or a color picker to define their palette. Colir’s standout feature is its curve-based editing system, which allows precise manipulation of both X and Y curves. By adding and moving points along these curves, users can control how colors flow across the canvas, resulting in gradient patterns that are not limited to traditional shapes.

The tool also provides a suite of visual effects and filters to enhance gradients. These include noise to eliminate banding, glitter for shimmer, feathering to soften edges, and distortion to introduce organic variation. Each effect can be adjusted in intensity and paired with its own blend mode. Colir supports 12 blend modes, such as Multiply, Screen, Overlay, and Difference, similar to those found in design applications like Photoshop and Figma. These can be stacked with curve adjustments to achieve complex visual results.

Editing is powered by GPU-accelerated WebGL, enabling real-time rendering at resolutions of 2K and higher without noticeable lag. Once satisfied with their design, users can export gradients as PNG or WebP image files or generate a shareable link for reuse.
