Blink is a self-hosted platform designed for deploying custom AI agents, with a particular emphasis on supporting coding tasks and deep code research. The platform includes a pre-built Scout agent that is fully functional and can be tailored to specific needs through new tools and prompts. Blink provides a web-based user interface for chatting with agents, as well as a CLI for developing agents locally before deployment. Developers can build new agents in TypeScript using the Blink SDK, offering flexibility for those who want to extend or create specialized agents. The system supports observability features, allowing users to view logs and traces directly in the web UI, and it facilitates user and organization management so teams can collaborate on agent development and deployment.

Blink agents can be integrated into workflows on GitHub, accessed through the web interface, or used in threaded Slack conversations. This enables use cases such as discussing ideas or handling coding tasks within Slack, gathering and summarizing context for GitHub issues, and providing customer support in shared Slack channels with answers that cite relevant code or documentation.

Deployment is managed via Docker containers, and installation is possible through a global npm package. Blink is not a workflow or flow builder with drag-and-drop logic; instead, it is built to give developers the freedom to create agents that adapt and reason beyond predetermined paths, relying on the flexibility of code for true intelligence.
