ClipBook is a clipboard history manager for macOS designed to help users retain and organize everything they copy on their Mac. It addresses the common problem of losing previously copied items by running in the background and keeping an unlimited history of clipboard content, including text, images, files, links, colors, and emails. The tool allows users to quickly access their clipboard history at any time and preview the full content of each item before pasting, reducing errors when dealing with similar content.

The application offers a range of features for efficient clipboard management. Users can paste without formatting to avoid inconsistencies, paste multiple items at once in their chosen order, and access the first nine items quickly using keyboard shortcuts. ClipBook is designed to be keyboard-centric, enabling users to operate it entirely without leaving the keyboard. Additional functions include merging multiple text items into a single entry, appending copied text to existing items, extracting text from images, and opening links directly in the web browser. A quick search feature allows users to find any item in the clipboard history, including text embedded in images.

ClipBook provides robust controls for editing and organizing clipboard history. Users can edit items, mark favorites to pin them, delete individual entries, or clear the entire history, with the option to exclude favorites from deletion. The interface is highly customizable, supporting changes to appearance, color themes (dark, light, or system), keyboard shortcuts, and window positioning across multiple screens. The tool can be set to launch at login, supports auto-updates, and allows the menu bar icon to be hidden.

Privacy is a core focus, as all data is stored locally on the user's Mac and never leaves the device. There is no cloud storage, analytics, or tracking. Users can configure ClipBook to ignore confidential content, exclude specific applications from being recorded, pause and resume clipboard tracking, and clear history upon quitting the app. ClipBook is open source, and its source code is publicly available for review.
