Clipback is a video review tool designed for freelance video editors, small studios, agencies, and in-house video teams seeking streamlined, timestamped feedback from clients. The platform addresses the challenge of ambiguous or scattered video feedback by allowing clients to leave precise, timestamped comments directly on the video timeline. Clients access the video via a private review link, without needing to create an account or log in, and can pause playback, click the timeline, type comments, and optionally annotate frames with arrows or rectangles.

All feedback is centralized, with every comment tracked in one place and each revision monitored as editors upload new versions. Editors can manage comments as a checklist, address feedback, and observe the resolution of revisions as approvals are granted. The tool also provides explicit approval functionality and a side-by-side version comparison feature, enabling users to maintain a clear history of changes throughout the editing process.

Clipback is web-based, with video playback and feedback handled in the browser. Review links can be protected with a password for added privacy, and all assets are served over HTTPS using signed CloudFront URLs. The platform supports MP4, MOV, and WebM video formats, transcoding them for smooth playback on any device via a global content delivery network (CDN).

There are no per-seat client fees, no required client signup, and no learning curve for clients providing feedback.
