ChatForm

ChatForm is a free tool that turns a public Google Form into a chat-style version. It presents the same questions one at a time as a natural conversation, and answers still flow back to the original Google Form so the data on the user’s end remains identical.

The service is built around a simple flow: create a form in Google Forms, paste the link, and generate a chat form. It requires no signup and no account, and there is no login wall for either creators or respondents. ChatForm also says it does not store responses on its own servers; responses are submitted directly back to the original Google Form and can be read in the existing Google Forms response sheet.

Supported Google Forms question types include short answer, paragraph, multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, linear scale, and date. It does not support file upload, grid or matrix, or image-choice questions; forms containing those types return an UNSUPPORTED_QUESTION_TYPE error. The generated chat pages are mobile-responsive and are described as working particularly well on phones, where long forms are most likely to be abandoned.

ChatForm is free forever, with unlimited creation, sharing, and response collection. Generated chat links carry a small ChatForm watermark. The tool is described as well-suited to research recruitment surveys, IRB-approved consent forms, and dissertation surveys, especially where lower respondent dropout matters. It is a form-conversion tool that keeps the existing Google Forms workflow and response sheet intact.
