Centrality is an open-source desktop application designed for developers who use Claude Code as their AI coding tool. It provides a live, interactive map of a codebase, allowing users to see exactly how Claude Code navigates, modifies, and interacts with their projects in real time. The tool aims to give developers insight into the actions their AI assistant performs, supporting understanding, debugging, and optimization of AI-driven coding workflows.

Key features include an interactive codebase graph that visualizes the structure of a project as a network of directories, files, and symbols such as functions, classes, and types. Centrality tracks every action performed by Claude Code—including reading, writing, editing, and command-line operations like Bash and Grep—and maps these actions to the specific nodes they affect within the codebase. The application offers a playback mode for replaying sessions step by step, enabling users to follow the AI’s reasoning and activity throughout a coding session. Integration with Git allows users to view commits and diffs alongside session activity, providing a clear picture of what has changed on disk. A chat panel displays the full conversation with Claude Code, including per-exchange token usage and cache statistics, and users can control the granularity of their view, switching between directory, file, and symbol levels for targeted analysis.
