BlockZeee

BlockZeee is a free browser extension for Chrome and Firefox designed to block ads, trackers, and fingerprinting scripts before they reach the user. It addresses privacy and performance concerns by preventing the download of ads, blocking over 100 ad networks, and stopping more than 250 tracker domains. The tool is positioned for users who want to browse without intrusive ads, tracking, or data collection, especially in the context of recent changes to Chrome’s extension architecture that have rendered many older ad blockers ineffective.

The extension offers eighteen privacy features, all of which can be individually enabled or disabled. Among its capabilities are blocking YouTube ads, overlays, banners, and promoted content at the browser-engine level using the declarativeNetRequest engine. It employs behavioral heuristics to detect and block dynamically-rotating ad URLs that static blocklists may miss. BlockZeee also provides CNAME tracker protection by unmasking trackers disguised as first-party requests, and blocks telemetry by stopping background reports sent to analytics and crash-reporting endpoints.

Additional privacy protections include blocking requests to web font CDNs such as Google Fonts, Typekit, and FontAwesome, which can be used for fingerprinting. The extension introduces fingerprint protection by adding subtle noise to canvas, audio, and hardware signals, making it harder for trackers to uniquely identify a browser. It also includes a WebRTC leak shield to prevent the exposure of a user's real IP address, even when using a VPN. Other features are referrer trimming to limit information shared with sites about previous browsing activity, stripping of tracking parameters like utm_, fbclid, and gclid from URLs, and redirect unwrapping to bypass tracking hops on major platforms.

BlockZeee is free to use, requires no account, and does not collect any user data. It is built natively for Chrome’s Manifest V3 architecture, ensuring that the browser itself performs the blocking and the extension never accesses user traffic. This makes it a privacy-focused ad blocker and tracking protection tool for users seeking control over their browsing experience.
