Auto Standup Bot

Auto Standup Bot is an application designed to automate the process of generating daily standup reports using activity from Jira and, optionally, GitHub. The tool delivers these standups to Slack or Microsoft Teams, aiming to streamline team updates and communication. It is available for Jira Cloud and can be installed directly from the Atlassian Marketplace at no cost.

Key features include the ability to set a specific timezone, posting hour, and working days for standup delivery. Users can enable scheduled auto-posting or create and send standups on demand. The bot offers customization options for the output, such as choosing between a casual or professional tone, selecting bullet points or prose format, and providing optional AI instructions to further tailor the content. There is also a weekly digest feature, which posts a summary of the entire week’s activity on the final working day, and ensures that after time off, changes since the last workday are included in the next standup.

The platform includes a Preview tab, allowing users to review and edit the generated standup before sending it to Slack or Teams, or copying it elsewhere. A History tab is provided to view or copy past standups. Integration is specifically supported with Jira Cloud and can optionally include GitHub commits and pull requests in the standup summaries. The app is partner-supported and is categorized as a free commercial license, with no charge for use.

Auto Standup Bot is suited for teams using Jira Cloud who want to automate the process of daily or weekly status reporting based on actual project activity, with delivery to their preferred team communication platform. The app is not part of the Atlassian Marketplace Bug Bounty program and has its own privacy policy managed by the partner, rather than Atlassian.
