aqua

aqua is an AI-powered quality assurance service designed specifically for AI coding agents and teams that use them. It addresses the challenge of manually verifying code changes by automating the generation, planning, and execution of QA tests. Users can describe what needs to be tested in natural language or point aqua at a pull request, and the AI will analyze the codebase and PR diff to create a structured QA plan with detailed scenarios, steps, and assertions. This approach aims to save time and reduce the manual effort traditionally required for QA in fast-paced development environments.

The platform supports both HTTP API and browser-based testing, automatically capturing logs, screenshots, and DOM snapshots during test execution. Results are viewable through a web dashboard, allowing teams to review outcomes collaboratively. aqua's plans are versioned and reusable, enabling repeated execution as code evolves. The system also features environment management, letting users switch between local, staging, and production environments with a single flag, and manages URLs, variables, and secrets per environment. Project Memory allows aqua to accumulate insights such as reliable selectors and authentication flows, so subsequent QA sessions build on prior knowledge without needing to re-explain the application.

aqua is built to work with MCP-compatible AI agents, including Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Cursor, Windsurf, Antigravity, and others that support the Model Context Protocol. Users can interact with the service via a web dashboard or through a CLI. Security and privacy are emphasized: credentials and secrets are resolved locally using providers like 1Password, AWS Secrets Manager, GCP Secret Manager, and HashiCorp Vault, and are never sent to the AI agents or the aqua service. Sensitive data is automatically masked before any artifacts are uploaded, and access control is enforced through organization-level roles and audit logs. For organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements, aqua can be self-hosted to ensure all data remains within their own infrastructure.

Currently, aqua is free for personal use, and all features are available at no cost during its beta period. Commercial use will require a paid plan in the future.
