Skillshare is a command-line tool designed to synchronize AI CLI skills across multiple tools and machines, providing a unified source of truth for managing these skills. It addresses the challenge of keeping AI-related command-line skills consistent and up to date, whether for individual users or teams working with multiple platforms such as Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, Codex, and over 50 additional tools.

The tool offers features like multi-tool and cross-machine synchronization, allowing users to sync skills with a single command. It supports team sharing by enabling standardized AI workflows and organization-wide standards through tracked repositories, as well as project-specific skill sharing via Git. Skillshare employs a non-destructive merge process to sync shared skills while preserving those specific to individual CLI tools, and uses per-skill symlinks to keep local skills unchanged. Bidirectional sync lets users collect skills created in one tool and share them with others. Security is a focus, with built-in audits that scan for prompt injection, data exfiltration, credential theft, and destructive commands, automatically blocking critical threats during installation.

Skillshare is compatible with macOS, Linux, and Windows, and can be installed via Homebrew or a shell script. It works with any Git host, including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and self-hosted options. The tool also provides a web dashboard for visual management, allowing users to browse skills, check sync status, install skills directly from the web interface, and perform sync operations with options like dry-run and force. The dashboard includes features such as a skills explorer, detailed skill views, and remote skill search and installation from GitHub.

Users can create and publish their own skill sets, migrate from other tools or manual setups, and benefit from backup and restore capabilities. Skillshare is distributed under the MIT License.
