YC Interview Simulator offers a platform for practicing Y Combinator partner interviews using a real-time, voice-based roleplay against a synthesized version of Garry Tan. Designed for startup founders preparing for YC interviews, the tool enables users to engage in simulated conversations that mirror the dynamics of an actual partner interview. The simulation is built on Speko’s voice routing technology and requires microphone access for live interaction.

Participants can upload a pitch deck, paste their website URL, or write a short description of their startup. This information is processed by Claude to generate a partner-ready brief, which the synthesized Garry Tan reviews before the interview begins. This ensures that the simulated questions are tailored to the specifics of the user’s business, rather than being generic startup prompts. If no information is provided, the tool defaults to general startup questions and probes based on the user’s live answers.

After the real-time voice interview, the platform provides a scored transcript and structured feedback. Performance is evaluated according to YC’s seven traits: determination, flexibility, imagination, friendship, naughtiness, founder-market fit, and execution. Each trait is scored on a scale from 1 to 5, and users receive a per-question rewrite suggesting what they could have said to improve their responses. The tool emphasizes privacy by stating that it does not record audio, only the transcript of the conversation.
