Trace Continuity is a governed memory infrastructure designed to address the challenges of secure data storage and retrieval, particularly in environments with strict regulatory requirements such as hospitals, law firms, and defense organizations. The platform integrates governance directly into the memory layer, ensuring that no data write or retrieval can bypass authority evaluation or governance checks. This structural approach prevents the storage of raw personally identifiable information (PII), enforces append-only audit trails, and guarantees that every access is subject to real-time authority verification.

The system operates by evaluating authority before any data is processed, determining who is making the request, the permissions involved, the action being attempted, and ensuring tenant boundaries are strictly maintained. Cross-tenant access is architecturally blocked, and authority is re-checked on every read, write, and retrieval, not just at session initiation. The platform is delegation-aware, verifying the full chain of agent, user, and tenant relationships. Data governance includes detection and tokenization of PII and protected health information (PHI), redaction, retention policy assignment, and audit event logging. Raw PII is never stored in governed memory; instead, it is encrypted in a vault, and only tokenized data is retained with enforced time-to-live (TTL) settings at write time.

Trace Continuity provides a sandbox environment, referred to as the "Playground," where users can actively test the governance layer by attempting to breach its protections. This environment allows for real authority evaluation, tokenization, and access to audit evidence, enabling users to verify the platform's guarantees firsthand. The platform offers exportable audit evidence chains for compliance workflows, including HIPAA, legal hold, and defense review, with append-only audit logs that cannot be altered or deleted at any stage.
