Storyloop is a tool designed to help teams using Azure DevOps improve the quality of their project backlogs by identifying and addressing vague or incomplete work items. It focuses on common issues such as unclear titles, missing acceptance criteria, and requirements that are only understandable to the original author. By surfacing these problems early, Storyloop aims to prevent bugs, rework, and missed deadlines that can arise from poorly defined backlog items.

The platform offers a field-by-field review process, allowing teams to examine and improve the title, description, and acceptance criteria of each work item individually. Storyloop leverages AI to analyze these fields and generate suggestions for improvement, which team members can review, vote on, and approve before applying changes. Team consensus is required for AI-generated suggestions to be implemented, ensuring collaborative decision-making. The tool also incorporates gamification elements such as points, streaks, and leaderboards to recognize and motivate team contributions that typically go unnoticed.

Analytics features are included to help teams track acceptance rates and monitor trends in backlog quality over time. Users have the ability to customize quality rules for their workspace, defining what constitutes a good title, description, or acceptance criteria according to their own standards. Storyloop provides some starter rules but allows teams to tailor these to their specific needs. Data security is emphasized, with work item data fetched on-demand and not stored, encrypted PAT tokens, and isolated workspaces.

Storyloop integrates with Azure DevOps and requires read and write permissions for work items to review and apply approved suggestions. The service is offered through a subscription model, with a Team plan at $49 per month per workspace that includes unlimited team members and work items, AI suggestions via the user's OpenAI key, analytics, leaderboards, achievements, and Azure DevOps integration. A Growth plan is available at $79 per month for up to five workspaces, and a 7-day free trial is offered without requiring a credit card. The tool is delivered as a cloud-based service, and users can choose between cloud or self-hosted agents for data handling.
