Staminai is a browser extension designed to visualize AI token usage for Claude users through a stamina wheel interface. Drawing inspiration from the stamina mechanic in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it provides a familiar and intuitive user experience for monitoring usage limits. The extension displays a compact circular widget above the user's avatar in the Claude sidebar, representing session, weekly, and Claude Design usage limits with three concentric rings. The center of the wheel shows the remaining session percentage, and the rings use color shifts from green to red to indicate capacity consumption.
Hovering over the stamina wheel reveals a tooltip with detailed percentages and reset countdowns for each limit. The extension updates its data on hover, when the chatbox is focused or clicked, and on page load, with all refreshes debounced to minimize unnecessary requests. If the Claude API rate-limits the extension, it implements a progressive backoff strategy and respects any Retry-After headers. The widget is styled using Claude's own CSS variables, ensuring native support for dark mode and resilience to UI updates. The outermost ring, which tracks Claude Design usage, is only active if the relevant API fields are present for the user's plan; otherwise, it remains dimmed and the tooltip indicates unavailable data.
Staminai supports installation on Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and can be used as a userscript with managers like Greasemonkey, Tampermonkey, or Violentmonkey. It is distributed as open source under the MIT License, with the source code available on GitHub. ai using the user's existing session.
