SimSweep

SimSweep is a desktop application designed for players of The Sims 4 who manage large collections of custom content (CC) and mods. It addresses the common challenges faced by Simmers, such as identifying broken files, mod conflicts, and unused content within their Mods folder. By scanning the entire Mods directory, SimSweep provides a comprehensive report highlighting issues like corrupted packages, missing meshes, orphaned recolors, and overlapping mods that could cause in-game problems.

The tool includes features such as a Conflicts view, which lists every resource overlap and the exact files involved, enabling users to resolve mod conflicts efficiently. SimSweep detects broken custom content, flags and tags problematic files, and checks every file against known malware signatures, quarantining suspicious items before they can affect the game. It also cross-references the user's CC library with saved games and trays, offering insights into which items are actually used, thus helping to clear out unnecessary files. For troubleshooting crashes, SimSweep automates the 50/50 method, systematically narrowing down the file responsible for game instability.

SimSweep is available for both Windows and macOS platforms. The application does not require users to create an account or log in, and it can be downloaded and used for free. The free version provides full access to scanning, diagnostics, broken CC and conflict detection, malware scanning, duplicate detection, usage analysis, and the automated 50/50 method. For advanced users, an optional subscription called Decrypt is available for $5 per month via Patreon, unlocking additional features such as save game scanning, live crash monitoring, a Save Health suite, auto-sort and mod profiles, unlimited collections, and extra visual themes.

Developed independently by a solo creator and operated by SYVR Studios LLC, SimSweep is unaffiliated with Electronic Arts, Maxis, or The Sims brand. It is positioned as a dedicated CC and mod manager and scanner for The Sims 4 community, aiming to streamline mod organization and enhance game stability for players who maintain extensive custom content libraries.
