Finterm

Finterm is a command-line interface (CLI) data layer designed specifically for trading agents and AI models that operate in financial contexts. The platform addresses the need for structured, sourced, and timestamped financial data, enabling trading agents to access and utilize information such as filings, market data, ownership flows, and in-depth research through a single command-line call.

Among its core features, Finterm provides both raw financial data and a token-efficient layer tailored for agent consumption. This includes filtered data sources, calculated signals, diffs, and structured outputs. One highlighted capability is the ticker data bundle, which generates a comprehensive snapshot for a given ticker symbol. This snapshot encompasses earnings reports, guidance, price reactions, financial ratios, options sentiment, short pressure, technical indicators (such as RSI, MACD, and SMA), financial statements, and pre-earnings context. The tool also supports live or current data output for these snapshots.

Finterm offers functionality for comparing SEC filings, allowing users to run section-by-section diffs between different reporting periods for a given company. This feature returns the changed language between filings, which can be critical for detecting material updates or shifts in company disclosures. In addition to ticker bundles and filing diffs, Finterm provides access to insider and institutional ownership flows and aggregates multi-source deep research, all formatted for agent-ready consumption.

The tool is delivered as a globally installable CLI package (via npm), making it accessible wherever a trading agent can execute a command-line interface. Finterm is positioned as a finance tool shaped for agent context, supporting integration with AI models and trading agents such as Claude and ChatGPT.
